Week 11

Dear All,
Hope you’ve had a good week. This week we celebrated Jim's birthday. We had a great time together. Jim is so thankful for all the appreciation he felt that day.

Thank you for coming by with love and well wishes. Faye was class host together with Jim. She did an outstanding job!

Our week has been good but busy. We are finishing our work with winter and beginning with spring soon. We will also begin with a theme called "För i tiden" or "Back in the Old Days".

"Miljö vecka"/"Environment Week" will also be observed soon. We will be doing a project using recycled goods. Could you please send "junk" such as bottle caps, toilet rolls,  egg and milk cartons etc with your child/children to school? We would really appreciate your help.

We have also worked with the following:

Swedish – The students continued working with “Leksaksfabriken/ The Toy Factory. The teachers also read aloud to the class from one of this semester’s Swedish novels.

Math – all the students have almost finished working with the class math book.

Science/NO – We are finishing our work with Winter.

English – we continued our work with Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl .

In the coming week

This week’s homework: for English we’re giving the students questions to answer about Mr Fox.  For Math the students will be given a subtraction worksheet.

Development talks will begin Week 12. The meetings will be 15 minutes long and we will be covering how well your child has achieved the goals that they established the last developmental meeting. The signup sheet has been posted in the classroom.
IF YOU HAVEN'T BOOKED YOURSELVES IN DEVELOPMENTAL TALKS PLEASE DO. WE PLAN TO HAVE IT ONLY FOR WEEK 12. IT WILL BE DIFFICULT OTHERWISE.
On Tuesday March 21, 2017 we'll celebrate "Rocka sockan".
The students can sport odd pairs of socks if they like that day:). This was started by a girl whose sister has Down's Syndrome. The use of odd socks is her way of showing that we're all unique but can still get along.

Wishing you a great weekend.
