Week 10

Dear All,

Hope you’ve had a good week and that you enjoyed the children’s winter break. The kids and staff are ecstatic about Jim’s return.

Our week has been good but busy. We are moving toward the end of working with the winter theme. We have been looking at facts about the Swedish wolf together.

Wednesday March 8, we celebrated “300 Days Smarter” and the Secret Toys project. We ended the day with a toy themed movie and snacked on popcorn.

We have also worked with the following:

Swedish – The students continued working with “Leksaksfabriken/ The Toy Factory. The teachers also read aloud to the class from one of this semester’s Swedish novels.

Math – we talked about greater than, less than and equals. We counted to 300! We refreshed our abacus skills.

Science/NO – We continued our work with the theme Winter.

English – we continued our work with Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl .

SO/Social Studies - we talked about International Women’s Day,  the suffragette movement .

In the coming week

This week’s homework: for English we’re giving the students questions to answer about Mr Fox.  For Math the students will be given an equal, greater than and less than worksheet. We need the homework handed in on Wednesdays at the latest, so we can correct it before  Friday.

Development talks will begin Week 12. The meetings will be 15 minutes long and we will be covering how well your child has achieved the goals that they established the last developmental meeting. The signup sheet will be posted in the classroom on Monday, March 13.

March 17 is Saint Patrick’s Day. Feel free to where something green.

Wishing you a great weekend!
